Biometrics is the science of using part of a person's body, to identify them. whether a fingerprint, hand-geometry, characteristics of the iris or unique sound patterns of a voice.

A person will register on the system initially with a 30 second registration process, for example they may place their finger on a fingerprint reader. then once they have registered, whenever they wish to enter the facility, log onto the network or enter the restricted area they do so by placing their finger on the reader once again. This will compare the live record with the one captured on registration to ensure with 100% accuracy that this person is who they claim to be.
